About The Position

Credit Union 1 is seeking a detail-oriented and member-focused professional to join our Real Estate Lending team. This role will support the mortgage process from application through closing, aiming to create a smooth, transparent, and positive experience for our members. The ideal candidate is driven by care, approaches challenges with curiosity, and takes pride in doing what's right for our members. This position requires strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, as it involves close work with members, employees, and local partners. This role is located on-site at our Abbott Headquarters (1941 Abbott Rd.).

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a lending environment (Processor I).
  • Must be organized, on task, and proactive.
  • Knowledge and understanding of conforming, nonconforming, and government loans.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to read and comprehend legal documents, instructions, and interpret documents such as credit bureau reports, debt to income ratio reports, policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where a considerable amount of standardization exists.
  • Excellent clerical skills, including typing and operation of the 10-key calculator and computer terminal.
  • Responsible for abiding and complying with the policy for compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering laws and regulations (BSA/AML) and the policy for compliance with office of foreign assets control laws and regulations (OFAC).
  • 2-3 years of experience in a lending environment, with at least one year of experience as a Processor (Processor II).
  • 2-3 years of experience in a lending environment, with at least two years of experience as a Processor (Senior Processor).

  • Experience with Mortgagebot is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gathering and verifying loan documentation.
  • Coordinating third-party services.
  • Monitoring loan conditions.
  • Ensuring compliance with required disclosures.
  • Assisting with the lien perfection process.
  • Processing and closing loan files, working with the Mortgage Loan Originator to meet service level standards and deadlines.
  • Reviewing valuation documents such as appraisals, Broker’s Opinion of Value, or Automated Valuation Models for accuracy and adherence to regulations.
  • Preparing accurate cost estimates and disclosures as prescribed by Regulation Z and RESPA.
  • Sending all applicable disclosures to members, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Processing the credit package, monitoring all documentation and disclosures necessary to obtain loan approval.
  • Preparing requests for verifications from the system and sending to the necessary entities, monitoring their receipt and validity.
  • Recording appropriate notes in the origination system and CRM and logging all pending documentation into the loan file.
  • Ordering appraisals, automated valuations, broker’s opinion of value, preliminary title reports, open escrow, full credit reports, property verifications, hazard insurance, and flood certificates.
  • Monitoring the file for receipt of ordered items and any other necessary information, making follow-up calls to assure receipt.
  • Ensuring the secure delivery of collateral documentation to the appropriate parties.
  • Following up on all items ordered for a particular loan.
  • Acquiring and following up on all prior to document stipulations and prior to funding documents.
  • Clearing loan conditions, such as appraisal review and underwriter stipulations.
  • Ensuring accurate processing is completed in a timely manner and preparing for submission to underwriting.
  • Answering member inquiries regarding existing loans and general questions about loan programs and other Credit Union 1 products and services.
  • Ensuring annual registration requirements for the position are met.
  • Being registered with the National Mortgage Licensing System or becoming registered within 90 days of hire.
  • Meeting current standards for the department or branch in the completion of all assigned duties.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

  • Pay Range: RE Processor I - $23.84 - $35.47
  • RE Processor II - $24.78 - $37.20
  • Sr. RE Processor - $26.71 - $40.43
