About The Position
Under supervision, Appraisers perform entry-level professional appraisal work of real or personal property through the routine application of appraisal techniques to determine the valuation of the property. Appraisers learn and apply traditional and mass appraisal techniques. Performs field inspections of properties for inventory and validation purposes. Collects, analyzes market information to determine property value.
Requirements
- Valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
- Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire.
- Legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business or Public Administration, Business Management, Engineering or a related discipline and experience in real estate sales or management, construction management, engineering, comprehensive planning, accounting, banking, business management, or a related field.
- OR Associate’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business or Public Administration, Business Management, Engineering or a related discipline and two ( 2 ) years of experience in real estate sales or management, construction management, engineering, comprehensive planning, accounting, banking, business management, or a related field.
- OR High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and four ( 4 ) years of experience in real estate sales or management, construction management, engineering, comprehensive planning, accounting, banking, business management, or a related field.

- Preference will be given to Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA) employees.
- Veterans who wish to be considered for interview preference must attach to the application a copy of their DD Form 214, DD Form 256, NGB Form 22, or a letter from the US Department of Veterans Affairs, recognizing the person as a veteran.
- Individuals currently serving as a member in good standing in the National Guard or the organized military reserves who wish to be considered for interview preference must attach proof of current service to the application.
