This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union. DEPARTMENT: Finance - Property Appraisal HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm LOCATION: 632 W 6th Ave, 3rd Floor - City Hall Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps. Remote work schedule opportunities (telecommuting) may be considered after successful completion of probation, at the discretion of management and with the approval of the department head. Not all positions are eligible for remote work (telecommuting) per P&P 40-40. Responsibilities

• Under supervision, Appraisers perform entry-level professional appraisal work of real or personal property through the routine application of appraisal techniques to determine the valuation of the property.
• Appraisers learn and apply traditional and mass appraisal techniques.
• Performs field inspections of properties for inventory and validation purposes.
• Collects, analyzes market information to determine property value.
