About The Position

Butler & College, LLC is a leading law firm serving the Lowcountry and surrounding areas, with a focus on real estate law and estate planning. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional client service and building lasting relationships with the individuals, families, and professionals we serve. As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated and client-focused attorney to join our Bluffton, South Carolina office. We are seeking an attorney to manage residential and commercial real estate closings while providing legal support to our real estate and estate planning clients. The ideal candidate will have experience handling real estate transactions, an interest or background in estate planning, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to providing an exceptional client experience.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in South Carolina.
  • Strong knowledge of, or demonstrated interest in, South Carolina real estate law.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment.
  • Professional, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach to client matters.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in real estate transactions and/or estate planning preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of real estate closings, including contract review, title and due diligence matters, preparation of closing documents, and funding.
  • Provide knowledgeable and practical legal advice to clients throughout the transaction process.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, real estate agents, lenders, title professionals, and other parties involved in transactions.
  • Identify and resolve issues that arise before or during the closing process.
  • Maintain current knowledge of South Carolina real estate laws, regulations, and industry developments.
  • Assist with estate planning matters as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and organized client files while effectively managing multiple matters and deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys and staff to ensure a seamless and positive client experience.
