About The Position

The Riverside Magnet School at Goodwin University is seeking a full-time Reading Intervention Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This role involves providing direct early literacy interventions to primary students, organizing reading interventions, and supporting classroom reading instruction within a dynamic team of educators. The school serves children from Pre-K through Grade 5 and is committed to diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge and expertise of elementary literacy.
• Knowledge of literacy intervention strategies and remedial literacy programs.
• Experience with and ability to provide training and resources to ensure use of effective, defined specialized strategies that meet the needs of diverse early learners in general education settings.
• Demonstrated ability in diverse and inclusive settings.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience with SRBI and social emotional supports.
• Knowledge and experience in the Common Core State Standards, 21st Century Skills, provision of high-quality core general education practices and practical application of differentiated instruction for all students.
• Knowledge and experience in the use of assessments that enable educators to monitor academic and social-emotional progress to drive educational decision making.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Reading and Language Arts Consultant (097), Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts (102), Special Teacher of Reading (063) certification/license.
• Highly Qualified Connecticut Certified Educator.
