As a Reactor Components Design Engineering Assistant, you will perform conceptual and detail design engineering work for reactor components, adhering to applicable codes, standards, and procedures. This role involves preparing design documents, technical reports, calculations, and drawings. You will work under the supervision of senior engineers, supporting various phases of engineering work including proposal preparation, design, testing, procurement, manufacturing, and installation support. You will also be responsible for responding to technical queries from reviewers or clients and reporting progress to leads and managers. The role requires developing technical documents such as engineering drawings, bills of materials, calculations, design specifications, design assessments, design requirements, design manuals, technical specifications for procurement, fabrication, and site installation, and testing specifications and reports. Additionally, you will support the preparation of TSSA registration packages for pressure boundary designs and assist with interfaces with regulatory bodies like TSSA and CNSC. You will also perform design reviews and verification for work done by others and support field construction and execution activities, including field changes, design revisions, and commissioning as needed.
