Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 2-3 years of healthcare coding, charge capture, compliance, auditing, or provider education experience.
Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
Basic understanding of provider documentation requirements, medical necessity, and regulatory compliance standards.
Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent credential.
Previous experience supporting physician coding education, clinical documentation improvement (CDI), or provider engagement initiatives.
Familiarity with professional fee coding, E/M coding guidelines, and Urology/Oncology-specific coding requirements.
Experience assisting with coding audits, monitoring, and education program development.
Knowledge of payer policies, reimbursement methodologies, and compliance regulations.
Experience developing educational materials, tip sheets, presentations, or provider communications.
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and coding/billing software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain coding concepts to providers and clinical staff.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to analyze documentation and identify coding or documentation improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver provider coding and documentation education for physicians and advanced practice providers.
Interpret and communicate coding guideline changes, payer updates, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct coding and documentation reviews to identify education opportunities and performance improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with coding, compliance, revenue cycle, and operational leaders to address coding and documentation trends.
Provide one-on-one provider coaching and specialty-specific education.
Analyze audit results, denial patterns, coding accuracy metrics, and charge capture opportunities.
Create educational materials, reference tools, and training programs to support coding compliance and documentation excellence.
Support compliance efforts through coding audits, corrective action plans, and ongoing provider education.
Serve as a trusted resource for coding, documentation, and reimbursement-related questions.
