About The Position

The Coding Compliance and Education Specialist helps ensure accurate and compliant coding and medical documentation in a healthcare setting. The role analyzes revenue cycle data to identify changes and discrepancies, then provides targeted education to improve documentation practices among providers and clinical staff. The specialist collaborates with healthcare professionals to develop and implement strategies that improve billing accuracy and regulatory compliance. The position conducts regular audits, uses audit findings to refine training materials and processes, and supports system updates and modifications. The specialist also helps ensure team members understand and adapt to new standards.

Requirements

Willingness to obtain CDIP, CPMA, CEMC, or CPC-I within 12 months of hire.
Critical thinking, attention to detail, knowledge of medical coding, strong communication skills, leadership qualities, and adaptability.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related field; extensive training and/or experience may be considered.
ICD-10 training certification.
Extensive training and/or experience.
RHIA or RHIT certification.
