About The Position

The Structured Finance and Alternative Investment Funds team at S&P Global Ratings evaluates the credit risk of securitized products and fund structures, analyzing underlying asset performance, structural protections, cash-flow mechanics, and stress scenarios. The team delivers credit opinions that help issuers and investors compare complex instruments, providing market-relevant perspectives on performance trends and issuance conditions across a growing and evolving sector. This role involves building credit judgment through coaching and standard methodologies, contributing to AI-enabled team productivity by sharing reusable prompts and templates, and supporting the onboarding and development of junior colleagues. The analyst will also contribute to workflow improvement initiatives and innovation by challenging existing processes and applying fresh perspectives to complex data and problem-solving. Core responsibilities include owning delivery for assigned credits, maintaining clear status updates, strong prioritization, and early escalation of risks. Ongoing surveillance for assigned credits, synthesizing developments into insights, and building analytical materials using standard templates with automation are also key. The role requires using approved generative AI and large language model tools for research, comparison, and drafting, as well as collecting, reconciling, and validating data, identifying anomalies and gaps, and documenting assumptions. Stakeholder engagement involves supporting rating committees by preparing well-evidenced materials and responding to follow-up questions with transparency. Translating data, analysis, and research into clear, decision-ready narratives for clients and senior stakeholders is essential. Risk management includes applying confidentiality, documentation, and governance requirements consistently, ensuring human accountability for all final analysis and committee content, and supporting the testing of automation and AI tools.
