About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Range Systems Supervisor – Communications & Timing for the Space Force Range Contract at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL. This role provides leadership and direction for personnel responsible for operating and maintaining Communications Systems. The supervisor is responsible for staff scheduling, including work assignments, training, employee vacations, overtime assignments, and shift rotations. They will assist employees with problem resolution, seek interpretation of company policies, hold site safety meetings, and enforce safety regulations. The position ensures mission equipment is properly maintained, adequate operational spares are on hand, and oversees training to ensure qualified personnel are available. The supervisor will oversee the setup and operation of mission equipment, monitor system performance during operations, and ensure status reporting is accomplished. They will facilitate the resolution of anomalies, assess system capability with regard to emerging customer requirements, and pursue initiatives to improve quality and efficiency. Participation in engineering project design reviews, integration, and acceptance testing is also required. The role is responsible for meeting department productivity and quality goals and may assist in preparing mission cost estimates and variance analysis. The supervisor will participate in quality reviews for mission planning documentation and perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, a Technical Discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years of experience with communications systems
General understanding of the major components that make up Communications and Timing subsystems
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
Ability to travel locally or outside the continental U.S. on occasion
8140 certification or ability to obtain and maintain certification within six months of start date
This position requires onsite work and is eligible for limited telecommuting.
The flexibility to work frequent non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
Valid U.S. Driver’s License
Valid U.S. Passport or ability to obtain one

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of the capabilities and interconnectivity of Communications and Timing systems employed on the Eastern Range, preferred
Eastern Range operations and maintenance experience, preferred

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and direction for personnel responsible for operating and maintaining Communications Systems located and associated with Cape Canaveral Space Force Station
Responsible for staff scheduling to include: work assignments, training, employee vacations, overtime assignments and shift rotations
Assist employees with problem resolution, seek interpretation of company policies as required, hold site safety meetings, and enforce safety regulations
Ensure mission equipment is properly maintained in accordance with the Integrated Organizational and Depot Maintenance Plan (IODMP)
Ensure adequate operational spares, supplies and consumables are on hand to support O&M tasks and objectives
Oversee training to ensure qualified personnel are available to support scheduled operations in accordance with the Operations and Maintenance Qualification and Proficiency (OMQP) Program
Oversee the setup and operation of mission equipment to ensure all requirements are satisfied according to mission documentation
Oversee Engineering tasks assigned to Range Systems Communication technicians and assigned System Maintenance Engineers at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
Monitor system performance during operations and ensure status reporting is accomplished in accordance with SFRC Operating Instruction (SOI) for Reporting Range System Status During Launch Operations and Mission Rehearsals and daily status reporting to Communications Mission Control (MCC)
Facilitate expeditious resolution of anomalies that occur during launch operations
Continually assess system capability with regard to emerging customer requirements and develop Requirement Statements when necessary to ensure future mission success
Pursue initiatives and activities to improve the quality, efficiencies, and timeliness of work centers and the Section solutions, products or services
Participate in engineering project design reviews, integration and acceptance testing to help ensure quality product delivery
Responsible for meeting department productivity and quality goals
Assist in the preparation of mission cost estimates and variance analysis when necessary
Participate in quality reviews for mission planning documentation
Vigorously pursues initiatives to improve the quality, efficiencies, and timeliness of enterprise solutions, products or services
Innovates process improvement oriented towards ensuring contract compliance and fulfillment while devising and implementing process improvement methods derived from internal and external integrated process team actions
Develop and integrate enterprise concepts and recommendations to capitalize on Cross Range best practices, efficiencies and standardization
Perform other duties as assigned
