  • The individual will be required to plan, organize, and coordinate work with groups of professionals and technicians.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years working in a Systems Engineering/Systems Assurance/RAMS environment with preference to those with rail transit experience and familiarity with the application of CENELEC standards (BS EN 50126, 50128, 50129) and other relevant industry standards.
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • P.Eng. in Ontario or British Columbia or PE in US States Preferred.
  • Experience in the Systems Engineering lifecycle is an asset, including typical tools for development of requirements (for example, DOORS)
  • Experience working with AI agents and tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain RAMS plans, strategies, and lifecycle deliverables in alignment with project, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform and support RAM analyses, including FMECA/FMEA, Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs), availability and maintainability assessments, failure‑rate analysis, and MTTR evaluations.
  • Review and assess system and subsystem designs for RAMS implications, compliance, and alignment with performance requirements.
  • Support RAMS requirements allocation, interface management, and verification activities across system architectures and supplier boundaries.
  • Support the development and apportionment of project‑level RAMS performance targets to system, subsystem, and component levels using structured methods such as Reliability Block Diagrams, FMECA, and analytical modelling, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and design intent.
  • Contribute RAM‑related inputs to Engineering Safety Cases, assurance reports, and lifecycle documentation, ensuring consistency with overall project assurance objectives.
  • Review and interpret contractual RAMS, performance, and security requirements, supporting compliance and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform reliability prediction modelling for infrastructure and interfacing systems, including the apportionment of RAMS requirements to lower‑level subsystems using recognized techniques such as RBDs and FMECA.
  • Conduct independent peer reviews of reliability and maintainability analyses and calculations to verify design assumptions and results.
  • Support the definition of maintenance and Line‑Replaceable Unit (LRU) strategies to achieve reliability objectives while optimizing maintenance effort and lifecycle cost.
  • Review supplier RAMS documentation, identify non‑compliances, and support resolution activities in coordination with the project team.
