About The Position
A.C. Moate Industries, Inc., ranked #1 in the nation by Pavement Magazine, provides commercial pavement, maintenance, and proprietary winter services. This role supports the Asphalt foreman by performing safe, accurate hand-finish work to ensure smooth, spec-compliant asphalt surfaces, steady production, and dependable daily schedule performance. The company offers an intensive two-week onboarding program including industry-specific training and training on proprietary systems and software. This is a role for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, can maintain pace with the crew, and focuses on the details that ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Ability to hold pace with the crew without sacrificing quality.
- Focus on hand work where production is won or lost.
- Willingness to demonstrate past paving or sitework crew experience.
- Ability to describe production pace maintained.
- Knowledge of quality problems that can be prevented.
- Ability to articulate how hand work made a difference in job quality.
- Ability to provide specific numbers regarding personal production, crew completion, and improvements made.
- Ability to explain instances of reducing rework, protecting schedule, or finishing a job right the first time.

Responsibilities
- Perform safe, accurate hand-finish work to ensure smooth, spec-compliant asphalt surfaces.
- Maintain grade consistency at edges, tie-ins, transitions, and drainage points.
- Support asphalt paving production through precise hand work to keep the crew moving.
- Reduce stoppages, waste, and corrective work caused by poor finish details.
- Maintain safe work habits around active paving equipment, traffic, and changing site conditions.
- Demonstrate daily reliability, showing up ready, holding pace, and helping the crew hit schedule.
- Take pride in workmanship on details that customers notice.
