About The Position

RailPros is seeking a Railroad Safety Flagger (Roadway Worker in Charge - RWIC) to provide on-site roadway worker protection for activities on and around live railroad tracks. This role involves job site coordination, dispatcher/train communication, and ensuring On-Track Safety in controlled and non-controlled track areas. Requirements

Able to complete required physical demands and/or task.
Able to effectively warn roadway workers of the approach of trains.
Understand the on-track safety training and qualification required of the roadway workers to be protected.
Proficient in radio procedure for communicating between RWIC/EIC’s and assigned work group.
Proficient in performing a job briefing with all roadway workers within their work location.
Able to place railroad advance warning and stop signs.
Able to install a railroad derail and apply locking device.
Proficiency with electronic communications including email and text as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite).
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
A minimum of 2 years in Maintenance in Way (MOW) and/or Trade Yard & Engine (TY&E).

Responsibilities

Provide required jobsite protection on each assignment, error-free and consistent with rules, including radio communication with train dispatchers and engineers.
Ensure work groups are clear of limits during train movements and grant permission for trains and on-track equipment to proceed through limits.
Perform daily job briefings with all personnel on the job site and ensure adherence to safety requirements.
Prepare and submit required electronic forms, including job set-up forms, daily work reports, invoices, and other reports.
Handle and place signs, derails, and other tools and equipment weighing 15 to 90 pounds.
Actively participate in routine safety classes and qualification training.
Maintain a high level of communication with RWIC supervisors and managers regarding assignments and schedules.
Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.

Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet business needs.
