Rail Terminal Truck Mechanic
About The Position
PRS is looking for an Experienced Jockey Truck Mechanic to join our team at the CSX Syracuse rail terminal. This is a recession-proof industry with Teamsters Union 317. PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the mechanical field and be preventative maintenance minded. Must have own tools (Yearly tool allowance provided). Must have experience and knowledge working with Air, Electrical, Hydraulic, and Diesel systems and components. Will need a valid driver's license. You will be an employee of Pacific Rail Services and not an employee of the Railroad.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the mechanical field.
- Preventative maintenance minded.
- Must have own tools.
- Experience and knowledge working with Air, Electrical, Hydraulic, and Diesel systems and components.
- Valid driver's license.
- Verifiable mechanical experience.
- Must pass IPCS test (physical).
- Must pass drug screening.
- Required to join local union.
Nice To Haves
- Applicants with Diesel Experience will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair forklifts, company vehicles, and hostler fleet.
- Maintain Hostler Fleet.
- Assist in other areas as needed by managers.
