The primary duties of the Rail Construction Manager will be to oversee construction management and inspection services for track and civil, structural, and other construction types for a variety of mainline, industrial, yard and terminal projects with Class I railroads, transit agencies, short line railroads, and industrial clients. Civil and track construction management assignments may include siding and mainline construction, special trackwork, utilities, drainage features, PTC and signal and communications construction. Structural construction management may include railroad underpasses and retaining wall construction and public agency overpass inspection/coordination. Project management responsibilities may include managing scope, budget and schedule as well as development of project guides, project meeting notes, and project controls. Candidate must be able to direct and mentor staff, manage projects and assist as Resident Engineer on projects. Position will require client and stakeholder meeting, site visits, field assessments, and construction inspection, as needed.
