About The Position
The Railcar Inspector/Operator position will promote and comply with American Association of Railroads (AAR) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations pertaining to railcar inspection and maintenance requirements. The Railcar Inspector/Operator is responsible for performing routine railcar inspections, identifying defects or maintenance needs, and ensuring all equipment meets required safety and compliance standards before release.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid Class A commercial driver's license for state of domicile.
- Three (3) or more year's prior experience as driver of tractor-trailer vehicles.
- Must possess all applicable Haz-Mat (Hazardous Materials) endorsements.
Nice To Haves
- AAR Certified Railcar Inspector, highly preferred.
- Product knowledge of cryogenic, compressed, and specialty gasses, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of railcars in accordance with AAR and DOT regulations.
- Identify and report defects, mechanical issues, or safety concerns.
- Ensure railcars meet all regulatory and company standards prior to service.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and required documentation.
- Communicate any hazards, compliance issues, or service interruptions immediately to supervision.
