About The Position

This Radiologic Technologist position at Providence St Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR, is a Full-Time role with an Evening Shift, working four 10-hour shifts. The role includes a $6,000 Sign-on Bonus for eligible external candidates. This position has shift charge responsibilities, which involve managing exam workflow, training staff, addressing equipment and safety concerns, and coordinating with multiple departments. The technologist will also perform imaging examinations using sophisticated equipment, considering individual patient needs and age-related requirements. A key aspect of the role is utilizing clinical knowledge for proper positioning, radiation dose calibration, and patient treatment to produce high-quality images while adhering to ALARA principles for minimal radiation exposure.

Requirements

• Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
• Oregon Radiographer License upon hire, Or Oregon Radiographer Temporary License upon hire.
• National Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within 6 months (180 days) of hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
• New graduates must have OBMI temporary license and obtain permanent license within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform imaging examinations according to physicians' orders.
• Utilize a variety of sophisticated imaging equipment.
• Consider individual patients unique and/or age-related needs.
• Utilize clinical knowledge and judgment for proper positioning factors, radiation dose calibration of technique, and patient treatment.
• Produce optimal high-quality images.
• Perform all examinations with minimal radiation exposure to patient and operator with ALARA awareness.
• Manage exam workflow.
• Train staff.
• Address equipment and safety concerns.
• Coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments within the facility.
