About The Position

BJC HealthCare System is seeking a Full-Time Charge Orthopedic General Radiology Technologist for the Center For Advanced Medicine (CAM) in Barnes-Jewish Hospital. This role involves leading the day-to-day tasks of the team, managing workflow, problem-solving, scheduling, and reporting. The technologist will perform diagnostic orthopedic imaging using CR and DR, and procedures under a c-arm, along with other departmental tasks. Requirements

  • Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography - R.T.(R)
  • Associate's Degree or Trade School equivalency (or higher level of education)
  • 2 years or more experience
  • 2-5 years experience
  • IEMA - Illinois only, excl MRI
  • Radiology Technologist - Reg

Nice To Haves

  • 2 plus years Orthopedic and C Arm Experience
  • 5-10 years experience
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Responsibilities

  • Lead team in day-to-day tasks, manage and run workflow, Problem solving, Scheduling, Reporting
  • Perform diagnostic orthopedic imaging CR and DR and procedures under c-arm, along with other day to day tasks within the department
  • Prepares patient and equipment for procedures. Informs patient on instructions and what the procedure entails with a high level of customer service and professionalism.
  • Performs radiographic imaging examinations independently, in on-call situations (if applicable), portable exams, and other tasks assigned by the department.
  • Manages shift operations to include daily workflow, assignments, lunch schedules, and adjusts priorities and assignments to best meet department needs. Enters/escalates IT and equipment tickets.
  • Serves as the clinical resource and expert for the technologists. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to: problem solving, assisting with difficult exams, and mentoring.
  • Serves as the clinical liaison between the team and leadership team. Ensures that proper information is communicated from the team and escalated to the supervisor appropriately.
  • Assists in the development and training of students and/or new employees.
  • Provides continuing mentorship to the team.
