About The Position

BJC HealthCare System is seeking a Full-Time Radiology Technologist for Barnes-Jewish Hospital – New Plaza West Tower (main level). This role involves performing radiographic imaging examinations independently, including in-house patients, occasional time in the Operating Room (OR), portable exams, and other tasks assigned by the department. The technologist will also work independently in the emergency room (ER). The hospital utilizes Siemens equipment in the ED and a combination of Samsung and Carestream portables. Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The radiology department is regarded as one of the top five in the United States and performs over 453,000 diagnostic imaging examinations annually.

Requirements

• Associate degree or higher
• Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography - R.T.(R)
• ARRT registered technologist.
• Associate or Trade School Equi

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic imaging examinations independently
• Occasional time in the Operating Room (OR)
• Portable exams and other tasks assigned by the department
• Work independently in the emergency room (ER)
• Prepares patient and equipment for procedures.
• Informs patient on instructions and what the procedure entails with a high level of customer service and professionalism.
• Performs radiographic imaging examinations independently, in on-call situations (if applicable), portable exams, and other tasks assigned by the department.
