About The Position

The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Radiologic Technologist performs procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories and operates specialized imaging, X-ray, computer, and hemodynamic monitoring equipment. The role prepares patients and equipment for cardiac catheterization and interventions, assists physicians with first- and second-assist duties, and supports procedures such as stent placement, balloon angioplasty, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump insertion, and Impella insertion. The technologist operates imaging systems, handles venous and arterial catheters and wires, monitors patients during procedures, calculates hemodynamic or physiologic values, interprets and records hemodynamic waveforms, and retrieves and analyzes procedural data. The role also documents procedures, maintains accurate records, manages access-site care, supports equipment readiness and troubleshooting, and participates in radiation-safety quality control and training.
