About The Position

This PRN position in Imaging Services at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital involves performing and assisting with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. The technologist will document patient history, confirm patient identification, prepare and administer contrast media, and consult with radiologists and physicians as needed. They will also select and operate equipment, ensuring correct anatomical positioning, and maintain appropriate departmental records. The role requires knowledge of growth and development principles to cater to diverse patient populations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology
  • Must be registry eligible with registry completion within 1 year of hire date.
  • BLS required
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician.
  • Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
  • Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary.
  • Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
  • Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards.
