About The Position

Good Samaritan University Hospital is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Radiologic Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where you'll provide high-quality diagnostic imaging while delivering exceptional patient care. The Radiologic Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation to produce high-quality images for physician interpretation. This position requires independent judgment, technical expertise, and a commitment to patient safety and compassionate care.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program required.
Current ARRT certification required.
Current New York State Department of Health Radiologic Technologist license required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required- American Heart Associated only accepted
Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning, anatomy, radiation safety, and imaging techniques.
Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures while applying prescribed ionizing radiation to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
Exercise independent judgment in selecting appropriate equipment, positioning techniques, and exposure factors to ensure optimal image quality.
Assess patients' conditions and respond appropriately to assist in emergency situations when necessary.
Deliver age-appropriate patient care with consideration for each patient's developmental, physical, and emotional needs.
Assist physicians during fluoroscopic procedures while maintaining sterile technique and preventing cross-contamination.
Perform radiographic examinations throughout the hospital, including the Operating Room (OR), Emergency Department (ED), inpatient units, outpatient services, portable imaging, and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab.
Ensure accurate patient identification and proper documentation of imaging studies.
Adhere to all hospital policies, departmental procedures, radiation safety standards, and regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
