About The Position

The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures to assist licensed practitioners in treating customer/patient medical conditions. The Radiology Technologist operates imaging equipment, ensuring customer/patient safety and comfort, following Health First policies and procedures, regulatory protocols, while collaborating with healthcare teams to produce high-quality, radiographic images for accurate medical evaluation.

Requirements

  • Graduate of one of the following: Joint review Committee approved Radiologic Technology program or school.
  • Mammography – Maintains Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA).
  • General Radiographer licensure in the State of Florida.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist – ARRT (R).
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained.
  • Ability to report to applicable Health First facility within thirty (30) minutes when on call.
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently in a stressful work environment and able to respond to life threatening situations.
  • Demonstrate effective time management, critical thinking skills, and coordinates scheduling and patient flow.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Diagnostic Imaging experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe environment with the operation of diagnostic imaging equipment for patients/customers, coworkers, and self by adheres to diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Performs a variety of procedures which may include general radiographic, portables, emergency room, trauma, operating room, mammography and fluoroscopic exams including invasive procedures.
  • Properly screens patients for diagnostic imaging exam and effectively documents and communicates pertinent and required information pre and post procedure performance.
  • Positions patients for diagnostic imaging exam using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with department safety procedures and protocols.
  • Produces images consistent with image quality standards and evaluate diagnostic imaging exams for technical quality.
  • Properly identifies, prepares and administers medications that are within the Radiology Technologist’s scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Monitors patients during exams, observing for any adverse reactions or complications, and taking appropriate action when necessary.
  • Maintains flexibility, adapts to changes in workflow processes and the needs of the Health First organization based upon fluctuations in patient volume.
  • Communicates effectively with customers (patients, LP, other Health First Associates, the public, etc.) always using excellent customer relation skills.
  • Follows all Federal, State and Regional healthcare regulations and adhere to The Joint Commission/ACR standards.
