About The Position

The Radiology Technologist Assistant performs routine clerical, technical, and patient-related duties in support of the radiology patient care team. Responsibilities include patient check-in and visit preparation, patient education, assisting with examinations and procedures, and transporting patients. The assistant is trained to use a variety of equipment, computers, and software and performs patient assessments within the scope of practice. The role supports exams for adults, geriatric patients, adolescents, and pediatric patients. The incumbent must be able to resolve conflict and work under pressure in a constantly changing environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in healthcare or customer service.
Obtain CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
Knowledge of basic anatomy.
Understanding of medical terminology.
Patient care, effective communication, and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize based on defined parameters.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Ability to transport patients from charts, beds, and wheelchairs.
Ability to lift and position patients.

Nice To Haves

One year of relevant experience.
Knowledge of day-to-day operations of a medical imaging department within a hospital setting.
Knowledge of EPIC, RIS, and PACs.
