About The Position

Advance your career with Essentia Health’s dedicated care team in Fargo, ND. Under the direction of the Manager of Radiology Services and supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist, the Radiology Student Intern functions as a staff technologist within Radiology, except for contrast injecting and radiology operating room procedures. This student position is responsible for providing optimal patient care. An X-ray Operator’s License is required in Minnesota, except for MRI.

Requirements

• Currently attending and enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program and working toward American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• For students in a four-year program, be one year from graduation; for students in a two-year program, be six months from graduation.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, or ability to become certified within one month of hire.
• Minnesota: X-ray Operator’s certification and good standing with the Minnesota Department of Health; this requirement does not apply to MRI.

Responsibilities

• Provide optimal patient care during general X-ray exams using established and accepted techniques for diagnostic and/or research purposes, appropriate to patients from birth through end of life.
• Provide optimal patient care during MRI exams using established and accepted MRI parameters for diagnostic and/or research purposes, appropriate to patients from birth through end of life.
• Assist department workflow by checking in and screening patients, performing room turnover, monitoring the technologist worklist, and following staff technologists’ instructions.
