About The Position

Advance your career with Essentia Health’s dedicated care team in Fargo, ND. Under the direction of the Manager of Radiology Services and the supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist, the student intern functions as a staff technologist within Radiology, except for contrast injecting and radiology operating room procedures. The position provides optimal patient care and is intended for a student Radiology technologist. An X-ray Operator’s License is required in Minnesota, except for MRI.

Requirements

• Currently attending and enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program and working toward American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• For West: Students in a four-year program must be one year from graduation; students in a two-year program must be six months from graduation.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, or ability to become certified within one month from the date of hire.
• Minnesota only: X-ray Operator’s certification and good standing with the Minnesota Department of Health; exception for MRI.

Responsibilities

• Provide optimal patient care during general X-ray exams using established and accepted techniques for diagnostic and/or research purposes, appropriate to patients from birth through end of life.
• Provide optimal patient care during MRI exams using established and accepted MRI parameters for diagnostic and/or research purposes, appropriate to patients from birth through end of life.
• Assist with department workflow by checking in and screening patients, performing room turnover, monitoring the technologist worklist, and following staff technologists’ instructions.
