About The Position

As a Radiology Student Intern at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital, you will gain hands-on experience learning from experienced team members while contributing to patient care. You will help patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their imaging experience, support the care team, and participate in learning opportunities while following safety and confidentiality standards. This is a PRN role.

HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital is a 237-bed acute-care hospital serving Charlotte County. Its services include emergency care, cancer care, stroke and chest pain centers, orthopedic and spine care, wound management, surgery, sports and rehabilitation services, outpatient programs, and community wellness programs.

Requirements

• Successfully enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Competent to perform numerous radiology exams.
• Within one year of graduation or of obtaining ARRT certification.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to frequently stand, bend, reach, squat, kneel, move, and lift patients and/or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for imaging by obtaining histories, verifying identities, and assisting with positioning while communicating clearly and compassionately.
• Transport patients safely between areas and support their comfort and emotional needs during procedures.
• Set up imaging rooms, manage room turnover, and organize supplies to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment.
• Communicate patient needs and concerns promptly to technologists and the care team.
• Participate in learning opportunities and follow safety and confidentiality standards.
