About The Position

Marana Health is seeking a Radiology Manager to join the Operations team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in the heart of Marana, AZ. The Radiology Manager provides operational leadership for diagnostic imaging services by overseeing daily department operations, supervising imaging staff, and ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. This is a working manager role that combines leadership responsibilities with direct patient care, including maintaining a scheduled patient caseload and providing clinical coverage as needed to support department operations. This position partners with organizational leadership to optimize operational performance, support employee development, maintain regulatory compliance, and achieve departmental goals related to quality, productivity, patient experience and service excellence. Marana Health is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 11 sites in Tucson and Pima County. Requirements

  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or other imaging modality
  • 2 years’ experience as a Radiologic Technologist or registered technologist in another imaging modality
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Active state licensure or registration in radiography, mammography, or sonography
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (may be completed with MH upon hire)
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety
  • Current Arizona driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance (39-month MVR will be run by MH)
  • Thorough knowledge of diagnostic imaging operations, regulatory requirements, quality standards, and imaging workflows.
  • Knowledge of regulatory accreditation standards applicable to diagnostic imaging services (e.g., ACR, MQSA, FDA, and state regulatory requirements).
  • Ability to lead collaborative teams and coordinate workflow to achieve operational goals.
  • Ability to adapt to changing healthcare regulations, organizational priorities, and operational needs.
  • Ability to lead, support, and develop a diverse workforce while fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, providers, staff, community partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle processes, documentation standards, scheduling, reporting, and operational workflows within an imaging department.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, solve complex problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), imaging systems, Microsoft Office, and other business applications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and supervises the activities of imaging staff to ensure the safe, efficient delivery of radiography, mammography, and ultrasonography services.
  • Provides day-to-day operational leadership for the imaging department, ensuring efficient workflows, quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborates with organizational leadership to implement strategic initiatives and achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Maintains clinical competency by providing direct patient care and serving as clinical coverage, as needed, to support safe, efficient, and uninterrupted imaging services.
  • Leads recruitment and onboarding activities, including interviewing, selection, orientation, and successful integration of new team members.
  • Oversees staff performance by establishing expectations, conducting evaluations, providing coaching and mentorship, recognizing achievements, and implementing appropriate corrective or developmental actions.
  • Promotes employee engagement, accountability, and retention through effective communication, leadership, and continuous feedback.
  • Facilitates ongoing staff development by identifying training needs, supporting competency validation, and encouraging professional growth through education and mentorship.
  • Ensures the safe operation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of imaging equipment and coordinates preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Maintains knowledge of regulatory standards related to imaging equipment, radiation safety, and imaging protocols, ensuring departmental compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintains imaging employee files and required departmental documentation.
  • Ensures imaging staff maintain all required licensure, certifications, competencies, and continuing education necessary to perform assigned duties.
  • Participates in and supports departmental Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives.
  • Enforces safety procedures and collaborates with leadership to promote a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Develops and maintains staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage while meeting operational, patient access, and productivity goals.
  • Ensures accurate and timely management of employee timekeeping, including review and approval of timecards in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Collaborates with leadership to evaluate workflows, operational performance, departmental policies, procedures, and electronic medical record (EMR) functionality.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with radiologists, external imaging partners, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Oversees departmental inventory, purchasing, and supply management to ensure adequate inventory levels while maintaining budgetary stewardship.
  • Supports clinical staff with image retrieval and access as needed.
  • Ensures accurate, timely, and complete documentation of required reports and departmental records.
  • Participates in educational programs, workshops, committees, and special projects to support departmental and organizational initiatives.
  • Uses operational data, quality metrics, and departmental reports to evaluate performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement process improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
