About The Position

The Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist will perform diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring quality patient care. The candidate must have experience in neurosurgery or neuroscience.

Requirements

  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a related field.
  • Valid Radiologic Technologist license in the state of New York.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
  • Experience in neurosurgery or neuroscience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Vascular Interventional Radiography (VIR) certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning to produce high-quality radiologic images.
  • Collaborate effectively with all department members to resolve problems promptly.
  • Exhibit flexibility, team spirit, compassion, and respect in all interactions with patients and staff.
  • Uphold patient rights in all forms of communications with patients.
  • Administer oral contrast as necessary according to procedures.
  • Instruct and prepare patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations while assisting the radiologist during procedures.
  • Show proficiency in operating all x-ray equipment and both CR and DR systems.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to management or lead personnel.
  • Complete all assigned procedures promptly and utilize downtime to assist colleagues with clerical tasks, stocking, transporting, etc.
  • Maintain medication security by ensuring access is limited to authorized personnel only.
  • Provide healthcare services competently to patients of all age groups.
  • Cultivate positive interpersonal relationships across all age demographics.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using the Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, including BPI projects and task forces as needed.
  • Uphold confidentiality by managing access with a personal password and patient care modules.
  • Respond to technical inquiries from physicians or other hospital personnel while adhering to proper phone etiquette.
