About The Position
A Radiology Assistant assists MRI technologists by preparing imaging rooms, transporting patients, positioning them for examinations, providing basic patient care, maintaining patient records, and performing clerical duties within a radiology department, all under the supervision of a licensed MRI Tech essentially acting as a support staff member to ensure smooth patient flow during imaging procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- BLS
- Licensed CNA in Kansas or completion of a Medical Assistant program
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all MR safety guidelines.
- Escorting patients to and from the imaging room.
- Verifying patient identity and explaining procedures in basic terms.
- Providing comfort and support to patients during procedures.
- Setting up imaging equipment and supplies for the scheduled exam.
- Ensuring the room is clean and sanitized between patients.
- Maintaining patient records, including data entry and filing.
- Scheduling appointments for patient and coordinating with other departments.
- Answering phone calls and addressing patient inquiries.
- Assisting the technologist with patient positioning during imaging procedures.
- Maintaining inventory of supplies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
