About The Position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health opened its doors this April as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 25 years! Integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, this enhanced integrated delivery system will establish a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. Our advanced hospital will offer 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, onsite 550-car parking garage, and a helipad for emergency transport. We are seeking a Radiology Assistant (Full-Time). Our ideal candidate will work under the Imaging Manager assisting our team in taking medical histories, positioning patients for exams, coordinating patient flow with nursing units, transporting patients, and ensuring safety standards are met. The Radiology Technical Aide will register patients that present to the front desk, assist with phone calls and facsimiles. They will also maintain equipment, exam rooms, and keep work areas neat ensuring safe conditions. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies, e.g. The Joint Commission and American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines
  • Must have knowledge of PC and applications

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of prior experience in a medical environment preferred
