About The Position

The Radiology Angiographer provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention for procedures while adhering to radiation safety principles. This role is part of the Women's Surgery Unit at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, a specialized facility focusing on women's health, including gynecological services, minimally invasive surgeries, high-risk pregnancies, and births. The hospital is recognized nationally for its excellence in obstetrics, neonatology, and nursing care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida
  • Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
  • Required to maintain BLS/Healthcare provider certification.
  • None.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates professional judgment in service delivery and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
  • Delivers appropriate care, recognizes patient conditions, and ensures successful completion of procedures and guidelines.
  • Assists the physician in producing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.
  • Assists the physician in all procedures as necessary.
  • Ensures that the patient’s education of procedure performed, needs, safety and comfort are met while in their care.
  • Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Adheres to Orlando Health’s mission statement and strategic imperatives.
  • Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs.
  • Provides instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation and communication to the appropriate team members.
  • Positions patient, equipment, and associated devices. Manipulates technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors.
  • Applies sterile techniques and appropriate standard precautions in utilizing Personal Protective equipment (PPE) to prevent cross contamination in accordance with OH policy and training procedures.
  • Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
  • Assists in the supervision of student technologists and the training of new technologists.
  • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in supply usage, charging, and documentation.
  • Ensures the safety of all customers.
  • Demonstrates knowledge regarding location, use, and troubleshooting of complex technical equipment and instruments. Acts as a resource for its operation and training.
  • Maintains the use of customer service skills in communication with all Orlando Health staff, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Maintains adequate inventory levels of supplies, equipment, resources, tools, and forms.
  • Performs as a mentor/preceptor for new staff while maintaining high standards of patient care, documentation, and professionalism.
  • Understands the application and technical aspects of all equipment and supplies used in all procedures.
  • Ensures that case turnover time is within established department standards by maintaining proper workflow and prioritizing optimal patient care.
