About The Position

The Radiology Aide supports the Radiology Department by helping maintain efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience. The role assists radiologists, technologists, and registered nurses with procedure preparation, maintaining clean and stocked work areas, managing phone communications, assisting with patient positioning and transport, and using computer systems for patient information and orders. The aide prepares trays and supplies for procedures, retrieves and hands over supplies during procedures, and obtains supplies and brings equipment to patient areas for procedures performed outside the department. The role also performs routine patient care activities as directed, helps patients prepare for procedures, escorts patients to their bays, and coordinates pre-procedure paperwork. This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED.
One year of related work experience demonstrating the required job knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Basic Life Support (AHA CPR).
Fire Safety within 90 days.

Responsibilities

Prepare trays and supplies for various procedures in accordance with established standards and procedures.
Retrieve and hand over supplies needed during procedures.
Obtain supplies for procedures performed outside the department and bring required equipment to patient areas.
Perform routine patient care activities as directed and in accordance with established procedures.
Assist patients in getting ready for procedures.
Escort patients to their bays.
Coordinate preparation of pre-procedure paperwork.
Help radiologists, technologists, and RNs prepare for procedures.
Keep work areas clean and stocked.
Manage phone communications.
Assist with patient positioning and transport.
Use computer systems for patient information and orders.
