About The Position

The Radiology Aide supports the Radiology Department by helping maintain efficient patient flow and positive patient experiences. The role assists radiologists, technologists, and registered nurses with procedure preparation, keeps work areas clean and stocked, manages phone communications, assists with patient positioning and transport, and uses computer systems to access patient information and orders. The position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED.
One year of related work experience demonstrating requisite job knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Basic Life Support (AHA CPR).
Fire Safety within 90 days.

Responsibilities

Prepare trays and supplies for various procedures in accordance with established standards and procedures.
Retrieve and hand over supplies needed during procedures.
Obtain supplies for procedures performed outside the department and bring required equipment to patient areas.
Perform routine patient care activities as directed and in accordance with established procedures.
Assist patients in getting ready for procedures.
Escort patients to their bay and coordinate preparation of pre-procedure paperwork.
Help radiologists, technologists, and registered nurses prepare for procedures.
Keep work areas clean and stocked.
Manage phone communications.
Assist with patient positioning and transport.
Use computer systems for patient information and orders.
