About The Position

Fort HealthCare is seeking a Radiology Aide to support its Radiology team. The aide helps the department provide patient care and maintain an efficient workflow by transporting patients, assisting with imaging procedures, preparing rooms, and performing general support tasks. Under a registered technologist’s direction and supervision, the aide positions patients for imaging exams and provides basic exam instructions.

Requirements

Read, speak, write, and understand English.
BLS certification is required.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED is preferred.
Must be accepted, enrolled, or on a waitlist for a radiography program.

Responsibilities

Safely support patients during ambulation, transfers, and mobility activities using appropriate assistive devices and safe body mechanics.
Transport patients to and from the radiology department.
Verify patient identity and procedure information before transport according to hospital protocols.
Provide basic patient support, such as offering blankets, repositioning patients for comfort, and protecting privacy and dignity during transport.
Coordinate patient movement with Radiology staff, nursing units, and other departments; communicate delays to the care team as needed.
Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of transport equipment and report equipment malfunctions.
Assist with room turnover and department upkeep, including stocking supplies and sanitizing surfaces.
Under technologist supervision, position patients for imaging exams and provide basic exam instructions.
Burn imaging discs and ensure documentation is completed before releasing them to patients.
Assist with patient requests and report concerns to the imaging technologist.
