About The Position

The Radiology Aide is responsible for coordinating and managing patient exam orders, managing patient images in various software systems, entering patient-related data in various software systems, and answering phone calls. The role requires excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, the ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a busy environment with high multi-tasking demands, and the preparation and execution of transport of patients, equipment, supplies, and patient charts to and from the department. The Aide will transfer patients to/from cart/bed/wheelchair using correct and safe techniques, assume responsibility for patients’ care, safety, and environment throughout transportation, and observe and report pertinent patient information according to department policy. Under the supervision of a Radiologic Technologist, the Aide will participate in patient procedures, change linens, clean and store equipment, and attend to patient care needs such as dressing/undressing and ambulation as directed. The Aide will also answer patient requests and respond appropriately.

Requirements

  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a busy environment with high multi-tasking demands.
  • High school diploma preferred or high school equivalency.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Terminology course preferred.
  • At least one year of healthcare work experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
  • Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

  • Answers patient requests and responds appropriately.
