About The Position

The Minneapolis VA Medical Center is one of the VA's four polytrauma medical centers, dedicated to caring for active-duty service members and Veterans with complex medical needs including brain injuries, blindness, or amputations. It features a 65,000 square foot center for Veterans with spinal cord injuries and disorders. In 2018, the facility saw significant volunteer contributions and a high volume of outpatient visits. The main campus offers comprehensive primary and specialty health services, including surgery, psychiatry, neurology, oncology, and dentistry.

Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an accredited U.S. residency program.
• Must be board certified or board eligible by the ABR or AOBR.
• Hold at least one state license.
• General computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assess medical images and contribute to the overall diagnostic and treatment aims.
• Review and interpret medical images to determine patient status and future medical care.
• Determine the exact images required for diagnosis and delivering orders to Radiological Technicians.
• Working with primary care doctors, nurses and radiology technicians to manage treatment plans.
• Monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Creating a radiation treatment plan for patients with cancer.
