About The Position

A two-physician interventional radiology service at a major academic-affiliated medical center is seeking an Interventional Radiologist. This role involves performing a full range of vascular and non-vascular interventions, covering clinics, and teaching radiology residents and fellows. The position is based at a 279-bed academic tertiary care medical center, one of the busiest teaching hospitals in the upper Midwest. The facility is equipped with a full interventional suite, vascular ultrasound service, and an active Y-90 radioembolization program. The service follows American College of Radiology practice parameters.

Requirements

  • Active, full and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state (Minnesota licensure or IMLC eligibility is an advantage)
  • American Board of Radiology certified with subspecialty certification in interventional radiology (VIR, or IR/DR dual certification)
  • Three or more years of interventional radiology practice, with a procedure log covering the last 12–24 months
  • Comfortable in a two-physician service with a shared call rotation and resident teaching
  • No history of a restricted, suspended, surrendered or revoked medical license in any state

Responsibilities

  • Perform the full range of interventional radiology procedures — angiography, embolization, stent placement, thrombectomy, drainage, image-guided biopsy and Y-90 radioembolization under joint protocol
  • Cover the interventional radiology and vascular ultrasound clinics during business hours, including consultation clinics
  • Take rotating weekday and weekend call for the service, with telephone availability and on-site response when a procedure is required
  • Serve as attending for radiology residents and fellows rotating through interventional radiology
  • Complete protocoling and dictation daily, including call cases
