About The Position

We are seeking an Interventional Radiologist for a locum tenens position in Bronx, New York. This inpatient role involves direct patient care with a focus on Interventional Radiology procedures, as well as clinical and call duties. The coverage period offers potential for a long-term contract. The schedule includes weekdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm, with phone call duties during weekdays and weekends, including federal holidays when the IR clinic is closed. Providers must be available by phone within 15 minutes and on-site within 45 minutes. The role requires rounding and involves 95% direct patient care and 5% administrative duties. The EMR system used is CPRS, and hospital privileges are required, with temporary privileges available.

Requirements

Active unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States.
Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate.
National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
Physicians must not have a history of license restriction, suspension, revocation, voluntary revocation, voluntary surrender pending action, or denial upon application.

Nice To Haves

Experience with CPRS EMR system.
Familiarity with a diverse adult patient population.
Experience in a high-volume interventional radiology setting.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures.
Provide clinical coverage Monday-Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm.
Participate in weekday and weekend call rotation, including federal holidays.
Respond to calls within 15 minutes and be on-site within 45 minutes.
Conduct phone consults.
Include rounding in patient care.
Manage administrative duties (5% of practice).
Ensure all procedures are performed according to best practices and hospital protocols.
