About The Position

This role involves ensuring safety and professional conduct by following all safety guidelines, using proper body mechanics, reporting unsafe conditions, maintaining a professional appearance, and adhering to radiation safety standards including ALARA, collimation, and patient shielding. The position requires providing high-quality patient care from arrival to departure, communicating respectfully, ensuring patient comfort and safety, properly transferring and positioning patients, and assisting in emergencies or first aid when needed. The technologist will perform diagnostic imaging procedures by operating radiology equipment safely, choosing proper technical factors, selecting and loading imaging cassettes, producing high-quality radiographs, and assisting physicians with contrast media and sterile procedures. Additionally, the role includes maintaining equipment, rooms, and records by keeping exam rooms clean and stocked, preventing cross-contamination, handling equipment responsibly, reporting malfunctions, and completing related clerical tasks including documentation as required. The position also supports department operations and ongoing learning by rotating shifts and departments as needed, taking on-call duty, assuming delegated responsibilities in the absence of leadership, and participating in continuing education and professional development.

Requirements

  • Must have passed or is eligible for the examination of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography. Continued employment is provisional based on completion and certification by the ARRT within six months.
  • Registered technologists must be in good standing.
  • Maintains BLS certification with biannual renewal.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Staff Technologist preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience in any Radiology subspecialty desirable, such as Special Procedures, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, CT or Ultrasound.

Responsibilities

  • Operate radiology equipment safely, choose proper technical factors, select and load imaging cassettes, produce high-quality radiographs, and assist physicians with contrast media and sterile procedures.
  • Keep exam rooms clean and stocked, prevent cross-contamination, handle equipment responsibly, report malfunctions, and complete related clerical tasks including documentation as required.
  • Rotate shifts and departments as needed, take on-call duty, assume delegated responsibilities in the absence of leadership, and participate in continuing education and professional development.
