About The Position

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient receiving, handling, and storage of all products within Granite Falls. The role requires knowledge of safety procedures, product storage, and the operation of equipment like forklifts and electric tuggers. The Material Handler will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment, identifying products, understanding relevant paperwork, and contributing to process improvements.

Requirements

Knowledge and practice of all applicable safety rules and procedures including safe lifting practices, safe product storage methods, and safe operation of forklift and electric tugger.
Ability to operate forklift and tugger safely and efficiently.
Must pass certification for forklift operation.
Ability to safely and efficiently store all finished goods from Granite manufacturing lines.
Knowledge of all stock locations/ products and area designations.
Knowledge of correct labeling requirements.
Ability to identify and differentiate various inventoried products and characteristics.
Ability to read and understand all applicable forms and paperwork involved in Warehousing Department, including but not limited to Material Transfer forms and Production Worksheets.
Equivalent of High School education in English, Math, verbal and written communication skills.
Entry Level position.
6 months experience in manufacturing.
Must be dependable, responsible and willing to adhere to all Pregis policies and procedures.

6 months to 1 year warehousing experience including forklift certification and computer experience.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently receive, handle, and store all products.
Operate forklift and electric tugger safely and efficiently.
Safely and efficiently store all finished goods from manufacturing lines.
Identify and differentiate various inventoried products and characteristics.
Read and understand all applicable forms and paperwork involved in the Warehousing Department.
Maintain good 5S housekeeping and a clean and orderly work environment.
Make constructive suggestions involving safety and productivity improvements.
Consolidate stock items to make room for additional product storage.
Determine appropriate stocking location for product.
Work closely with other material handlers and production personnel to ensure timely transfer of product to warehouse.
Work closely with Production Department to ensure timely and accurate reporting of product receipt locations.
Maintain good communication with Supervisors and others.
Report all problems or potential problems and delays to Department Lead or Supervisor.
Communicate all pertinent warehouse information to oncoming shift.
Assist with training of less experienced material handlers.
