About The Position

OrthoBethesda is recruiting an experienced Radiologic Technologist to support its orthopedic care team. The technologist explains procedures to patients, prepares and positions them for imaging, and operates X-ray equipment according to physicians’ orders. The role also includes maintaining patient records and adjusting and maintaining equipment. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Maryland Radiologic Technologist licensure.
• ARRT certification.
• Proven experience conducting X-rays.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, regulations, and medical office procedures.
• Organizational and multitasking skills.
• Appearance, behavior, and communication skills that promote excellent customer service.
• Uphold HIPAA regulations.
• Comply with OSHA mandates for dosimeter readings and quality assurance.
• Ability to adjust to changing situations.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree or higher.
• Radiologic Technologist experience.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients.
• Position patients properly before taking images.
• Position radiation protection devices, such as lead shields.
• Set X-ray equipment at the correct angle and height over the appropriate area of the patient’s body.
• Set X-ray machine controls to produce radiographs with appropriate density, detail, and contrast.
• Follow physicians’ orders precisely.
• Keep patient records.
• Adjust and maintain equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
