About The Position

Cleveland Area Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for both night and day positions. This role involves performing various diagnostic X-ray procedures, adjusting equipment settings, and ensuring patient positioning. The technologist will utilize ionizing radiation for specific procedures and assist physicians with examinations involving contrast media or tomographic imaging. The hospital is an independent Critical Access Hospital dedicated to providing high-level care and is undergoing expansion with new construction. This position offers an opportunity to impact rural healthcare in Oklahoma.

Requirements

  • Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or board eligible. If board eligible, must obtain registration within three months of hire date.
  • Must be able to work inside, travel outside, lift patients and equipment of various sizes and weights.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer 2+ years of Radiology Tech experience.
  • Prefer experience and/or certification in multiple modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Performs various types of diagnostic X-ray procedures, adjusts x-ray equipment settings, determines proper voltage and exposure and positions patient.
  • Performs specific procedures utilizing ionizing radiation.
  • Assists physicians in assigned examinations utilizing contrast media and/or specific tomographic examinations.
  • Adheres to all policies of the organization, including job description, certification/licensure requirements, mission statement, HIPAA, confidentiality standards and patient’s rights.
  • Actively engages and stays up to date with organization’s communications and directives.
  • Responsible for performing Radiology exams on Inpatient, Outpatient and Emergency Department patients ranging from newborn to geriatric.
  • Responsible for radiation protection of self, patients and other team members, placing orders and ensuring correct documentation hits the EMR, and that the correct charges post.
  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism, and is a team player with strong people skills working independently while also as a member of the team.
  • Reads and distinguishes physician orders and determines the appropriateness of the ordered exams, articulating questions or concerns with ordered exams or procedures to providers and other team members.
  • Works closely with scheduling, access, dietary, ER, Nursing, maintenance, housekeeping, Physical Therapy, Purchasing, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Billing, HIM and Administration, and is able to multi-task with keen attention to details.
  • Completes assigned projects/reports on time.
  • Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned.
