About The Position

Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs to assist providers in the diagnosis of patient care. This role involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures including x-rays and CT scans with accuracy and efficiency according to provider orders and established protocols. The technologist will perform exams during clinic hours on clinic, ER, and hospital patients, and will also perform on-call services as scheduled, including rotating weekends and holidays. Responsibilities include reviewing images for diagnostic quality, scheduling appointments, adhering to radiation safety standards, maintaining equipment and supply inventory, operating and maintaining imaging equipment, and maintaining accurate patient records. Additionally, the role involves ensuring a safe and sanitary environment, maintaining patient confidentiality, and attending training and meetings. The position also requires supervising, hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating radiology employees, and ensuring staff competency.

Requirements

  • AART certified
  • North Dakota licensed technologist
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety while performing all duties and responsibilities, including maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including x-rays and CT scans with accuracy and efficiency according to provider orders and established protocols.
  • Perform exams during Clinic hours on clinic, ER and hospital patients.
  • Perform on-call services as scheduled, including rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Review images for diagnostic quality and forward studies to radiologists for interpretation.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient imaging appointments, maintaining an organized workflow.
  • Adhere to all radiation safety standards to protect patients, staff and yourself.
  • Ensure adequate equipment and supply inventory levels are maintained.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring safety standards and quality control are met, report any issues, and arrange service when needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and exam logs.
  • See that all tests ordered are performed in accordance with urgency and stat response requirements.
  • Supervise, hire, train, schedule and evaluate radiology employees. Ensure competency of all staff within both departments.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in accordance with established Universal Precautions and sanitary, safety and infection prevention policies and procedures, making sure all required information is documented appropriately.
  • Know and comply with Residents' and Patients' Rights rules.
  • Maintain Patient Confidentiality and protect Patient Information.
  • Attend and participate in orientation, training, mandatory education, in-services, staff meetings, and education courses as instructed to further improve knowledge and skills, including Incident Command System training (ICS) for emergency preparedness.
