Emory Healthcare is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to operate radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of the body for diagnostic purposes. This role involves performing routine, portable, operating room, or fluoroscope exams, as well as complex radiographic procedures. The technologist will provide guidance to lower-level staff and students, position patients, adjust equipment, and explain procedures to minimize patient anxiety and ensure cooperation. They will also take precautions to minimize staff and patient exposure to radiation, assist in training, and participate in quality assurance and improvement activities. Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members is essential, as is keeping them informed of patient progress. The role includes setting up procedure rooms, ensuring patient preparation, completing documentation, and ensuring billing accuracy through the Radiology Information System. The technologist will follow all safety requirements, practice radiation protection techniques, use personal protective equipment, and may participate on a safety committee. Responsibilities also include operating, mobilizing, and positioning equipment, setting exposure factors, troubleshooting equipment problems, and advising supervisors of malfunctions. The position is PRN (as needed) with a shift of 7 AM-3:30 PM at Emory Ortho Spine Hospital.
