Radiologic Technologist - Full-Time
About The Position
The Radiologic Technologist performs a variety of radiographic procedures. Responsible for clerical duties, transport of patients to and from the Radiology department and developing radiographic films as needed. Requirements
- Knowledge of principles and procedures of diagnostic radiology, routine equipment maintenance and medical terminology normally acquired through completion of a formal AMA approved school in Radiologic Technology.
- Licensed and registered with the State of Illinois.
- Minimum 1 year of experience with radiographic and processing equipment.
- Analytical ability needed to determine best method of providing requested radiographs based on individual cases.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to deal with patients who may be under physical and/or emotional stress
- Ability to transfer and position patients, consistent with lifting up to 35 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Performs of a variety of radiographic examinations of patients of all ages and with various disabilities.
- Transfers patients on and off the examination table and positions patient to obtain the requested radiographic examinations.
- Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
- Selects and operates equipment as required.
- Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- Maintains documentation and records as directed.
- Completes inventory of departmental supplies and schedules patients as needed.
- Assists with the Quality Assurance department with testing of the radiographic equipment.
- In absence of department manager, may be designated as acting manager.
- Performs all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
