Emory Healthcare is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to operate radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of the body for diagnostic purposes. This role involves performing routine, portable, operating room, or fluoroscope exams, as well as complex radiographic procedures. The technologist will provide guidance to lower-level staff and students, position patients, adjust equipment, explain procedures to reduce patient anxiety, and ensure patient cooperation. A key aspect of this role is minimizing staff and patient exposure to radiation through proper techniques and the use of protective equipment. The position also involves assisting in training, quality assurance, and quality improvement activities. Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members is essential, as is keeping them informed of patient progress. The technologist will set up procedure rooms, ensure patients are prepared, and complete all patient care documentation and billing procedures in the Radiology Information System. Participation in performance improvement data collection and adherence to all safety requirements are also expected. This role requires the safe operation, cleaning, and stocking of radiologic equipment, as well as troubleshooting and reporting equipment malfunctions.
