About The Position

Radiologic Technologist PRN Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. Radiologic Technologists are responsible for performing complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations, explaining procedures to patient or guardian/family member prior to exam. Processing and manipulating images, troubleshooting, making technique adjustments or repeating procedures as needed. A successful Radiographer will assess and recognize the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions. Prepare room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies). Check physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures. Handle patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imaging. Operate, care for and maintain equipment. Administer contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines.

Requirements

  • Other graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology upon hire
  • 1 Year radiologic technologist experience
  • CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist Either by the TDH or TMB Upon Hire
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • Communication skills
  • Computer skills
  • Venipuncture skills

  • Preparing room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)
  • Checking physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures
  • Handling patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitoring patient during imaging
  • Operating, caring for and maintaining equipment
  • Administering contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines
