Radiologic Technologists are responsible for performing complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations, explaining procedures to patient or guardian/family member prior to exam. Processing and manipulating images, troubleshooting, making technique adjustments or repeating procedures as needed. A successful Radiographer will assess and recognize the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions. Prepare room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies). Check physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures. Handle patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imaging. Operate, care for and maintain equipment. Administer contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines.
