The Radiographer, under direct supervision, performs routine Diagnostic X-Ray examinations using fixed and/or portable equipment in accordance with established protocols, safety guidelines and quality standards. This role involves performing diagnostic imaging on patients as ordered by a care provider in routine or emergent conditions, ensuring testing is performed safely and with the highest quality standards, maintaining a consistent focus on patient-centric care. The Radiographer will also assist with basic fluoroscopic procedures when required, prepare patients for procedures, review clinical history, and safely administer contrast per protocol. They will manage and escalate contrast reactions and changes in patient condition, respond to patient and family inquiries, and collaborate with team members across OU Health. Responsibilities include conducting post-testing quality reviews, accurately documenting in EMR/PACS, transferring images and data, and performing equipment maintenance. The role may also involve supporting academic partnerships through teaching students, serving as a departmental preceptor, and providing on-call clinical coverage.
