About The Position

Under immediate supervision, the Radiographer Student performs diagnostic cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology procedures as directed by a physician and approved by an instructor or preceptor. The student assists with diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures in invasive and non-invasive care settings, prepares patients for procedures, and performs specialty-related procedures using established clinical practice standards, guidelines, and protocols. The role also includes maintaining department records and files, ordering and stocking supplies, and keeping procedure areas clean and ready for the next patient. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an accredited cardiovascular or radiologic technology program.
Current BLS certification upon hire.
Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
Knowledge of diagnostic cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology procedures.
Ability to operate equipment associated with the primary specialty in which the student is being trained.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and other staff members.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Assist with diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures using cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies, techniques, and practices.
Prepare patients for procedures.
Under immediate supervision, perform procedures using equipment, technologies, techniques, and practices associated with the primary specialty being learned, in accordance with established standards, guidelines, and protocols.
Maintain department records, reports, and files.
Order and stock supplies and ensure the procedure area is clean and ready for the next patient.
Perform other duties as assigned.
